baby making age

1–2 minutes

I run a separate site called Surrogacy Stories, dedicated to stories of those born via surrogacy, that hardly gets any views or traction. It’s okay — I recognize it’s for a more niche audience considering I’ve never met another person born via traditional surrogacy. At the same time, I’m tired of lack of awareness around the impact of being born different ways so, in an attempt to increase the reach even slightly, I’m re-blogging a post I wrote recently reflecting on how painful it is to be at the “baby making” age and to witness so many folks choose to pursue having kids so recklessly without real thought for the actual kid in the process.

Please take time to educate yourself if you’re considering having kids using a sperm donor, egg donor, surrogate, adoption, etc. The internet is too vast, the stories are too many, and we can all do better by those who, while babies, have no say in the matter.
