What on earth?! One day I want to track how many things I’m notified about just to get a sense of the shear amount of information I have to process on a day to day basis. This doesn’t even include my own to do list or, you know, the fact that my mom called me on Saturday night and I have yet to call her back (sorry, mom). It’s baffling we have any attention span at all or any forethought. It reminds me of this quote:
“And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you, to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say “No. This is what’s important.”-Iain S. Thomas
In the meantime, all I really want to do is mark all as read and walk away.
Since that’s not an option today, I find myself now sipping on a redbull typing as quickly as I can jamming to music as I go. This has been my current go-to jam in case anyone else is in a notification avalanche today.
Ping – more notifications roll in. It must be a sign that I must go.

Just do it, Anne. Don’t think about the repercussions… just forget about them and move along. No amount of redbull is ever going to prevent burnout!
