I saw something marvelous today. I dragged myself to Mission Beach in San Diego for my nightly walk after work. I was wiped out nearly confused about how I even managed to get my body to commit to this simple task when out of nowhere I saw a 50ish year old woman SPRINTING – full on, whole heartedly sprinting. Amongst the meandering, skateboarding San Diegans, this woman soared.
I recognized the look on her face. If I had to guess, she wasn’t sprinting to beat a time or prepare for a race. She was sprinting to feel and to feel her body move. I loved it. It gave me energy – I hope to be lucky enough to do that years down the line.
